Amtico International has products certified for low emissions
through the FloorScore program. The FloorScore program,
developed by the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) in
conjunction with Scientific Certification Systems (SCS), tests and
certifies flooring products for compliance with indoor air quality
(IAQ) emission requirements adopted in California.
FloorScore is a voluntary program that complies with the IAQ
performance requirements for low emitting building materials as
independently established by SCS-EC-10-2004, which includes
compliance with the California Section 01350 requirements for
listed VOCs in schools and state office buildings.
Continual studies show that the best way of controlling the
indoor air quality of a built environment is source selection - the
specification of low-VOC emitting products. Taking away the
source of VOC's greatly increases the quality of indoor air.
As we spend 90% of our time indoors, this is a very important
ideology to adopt.
